The XLE AWD model with the 95.8-kWh battery carries Toyota’s highest manufacturer-estimated combined range for the lineup at up to 511 km under specified test conditions.
Electric Performance
Up to 338 Combined System Horsepower
Toyota Canada rates the AWD configurations at 338 combined system horsepower, while the front-wheel-drive XLE is rated at 221 horsepower.
Three-Row Versatility
Seating for Up to Seven
Depending on the selected configuration, Highlander offers either second-row captain’s chairs or a bench seat, with room for as many as seven occupants.
EV Charging
North American Charging System (NACS) Plus Level 1 and Level 2
A North American Charging System (NACS) port provides access to compatible DC fast-charging stations. Under ideal conditions, Toyota says DC fast charging can take the battery from 10% to 80% in around 30 minutes. Level 1 and Level 2 AC charging are also supported, with an 11-kW onboard AC charger and dual-voltage 120V/240V cable.

14-Inch Multimedia + Digital Key 2.0
Toyota Canada lists a 14-inch Toyota Multimedia touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Digital Key 2.0 capability and a 5-door Smart Key System are also confirmed.

Toyota Safety Sense 4.0 is standard, with enhancements that include an expanded Pre-Collision System, upgraded Front Cross Traffic Alert and upgraded Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist.

The 2028 Highlander is Toyota’s first three-row battery-electric vehicle for North America, pairing an electric powertrain with the passenger flexibility and cargo utility expected from a Highlander.
Toyota Canada lists 1,290 litres of cargo volume behind the second row with the third row folded, plus 450 litres behind the third row. Vehicle-to-Load technology can also provide power to compatible external devices when the required bi-directional accessories are used.
