2017 Avalon

The Avalon offers one engine for both of its models, and it is no slouch. It is a 3.5-litre V6 that has dual variable valve timing to boost power and efficiency. The engine pushes out 268 horsepower (at 6,200 RPMs) and 248 ft.-lb. (at 4,700 RPMs). This engine has an impressive fuel rating coming in at 11.4L/100km for city driving and 7.7L/100km for highway driving. Toyota have also specially tuned the suspension system to offer a ride that is agile and comfortable. The body is highly rigid structurally and this not only adds to the ride, but also to stability and reduces the possibility of a roll over.

Toyota vehicles are some of the safest on the road offering an incredible list of features to protect their occupants. The 2017 Avalon offers a remarkable 10 airbags positioned throughout the interior. The car also offers Toyota Safety Sense System which has a impressive list of preventative safety features. The pre collision and pedestrian detection system is an intelligent system that offers both avoidance and mitigation in situations where a frontal collision is likely to occur and alerts the driver to help avoid the crash. This system also offers Dynamic Adaptive Cruise Control which allows the driver to set a speed and distance and the car monitors and maintains the settings with active braking, accelerating with the help of sensors on the car. To make the Avalon even safer, Toyota added the STAR® Safety System which includes a list of braking and stability features (Anti-Lock Brake System, Brake Assist, Smart Stop Technology, Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) all focused on keeping the car’s firm on the road and avoiding sway and rolling.

For 2017 the Avalon received an upgraded front and rear fascia. The look maintains the original grill but has positioned it lower and has made it larger and more aggressive looking. The car is low to the ground and maintains a dynamic and agile stance. The vehicle sits on stunning 18 inch aluminum alloy wheels. The interior of the car is incredibly spacious offering ample room to get comfortable. The luxurious feel of leather seats and the high end woodgrain trim make you feel like you are in a car far above this class price wise.

On the inside of the Avalon there is an advanced display system on a 6.95 inch touchscreen. This system houses the audio system which is Bluetooth® capable and allows for voice activated texting/calling as well as navigation. As with many Toyota vehicles the Avalon comes with a smart key which allows owners to keep the key in a pocket or purse and touch the handle to unlock/lock the doors. This smart key also allows for the push button start which eliminates fumbling for an ignition key. In the front there is an eight way power adjustable driver seat with both the driver and passenger seat offering heating options.
